The Lemur Legal team has a diverse knowledge in various areas of law, such as contract law, corporate law, financial law and intellectual property law. Also, each lemur has its own area that is especially close to him or her. One has esports, the other ecommerce, however we all share our passion for working with startups and technology companies.
Peter is the founder and a managing partner in Lemur Legal agency. After finishing his Master’s degree and PhD in Banking Law, he enrolled in an EMBA studies programme in Zagreb. After a number of years working in departments of bank financing and business compliance in the banking industry (NLB Ltd., Hypo Alpe Adria Bank), he decided that 2015 was the year to turn his career upside down and replace the rigid banking world for the fast-changing world of start-ups.
This is how Lemur Legal came to light, which he founded together with his friend Nina. Today, Peter is a co-owner of several start-ups (Blocksquare, Progeny, LoCoins and SmartSporTech), actively participating in several projects (SporTech Starts, Blockchain Think Tank Slovenia)and is involved in start-up projects within the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme, namely as an external evaluator. In 2019, he also founded legal consulting company Fintech Factory that works in the industry of financial technology.
Peter's favourite challenge is to find answers to the hardest questions related to the financing of start-ups and the field of intellectual property rights. He will never get enough of mojitos, sushi and Haruki Murakami's books. He dreams of someday having a Dalmatian again and hopes to visit at least 120 countries in the world.
Our latest addition, junior associate Špela, finished her Master’s Degree in Law at the University of Ljubljana, where she mainly focused on international law.
The Anglo-Saxon legal system is no stranger to her, as she had the opportunity to study and expand her knowledge of the British legal system and legal terminology during several summer school experiences in London. During her studies, she represented the colours of Ljubljana's Faculty of Law at the international arbitration competition in Vienna and at the moot court competition in Dubrovnik.
In her free time, Špela enjoys sports activities, where she is usually accompanied by her dog Vy. Her greatest joy include drinking good wine, eating delicious food or cooking something tasty for her friends and family. If possible, she spends her weekends at the seaside, which is her favourite downtime.
Teja is currently finishing her Masters Degree in Intellectual Property Law and Information Technology at Trinity College in Dublin. Prior to that, she graduated with honours from the Faculty of Law in Ljubjana. She is a junior legal advisor at Lemur Legal.
During her studies she was a tutor of Economics that helped the younger generations gain their knowledge in economics. She participated in several research projects and legal competitions, and gained her first practical legal experience by working at the Wolf Theiss Law Firm.
When she can, Teja likes to invest her energy in reading books, playing in the theatre and exploring nearby mountains and distant places.
Vanja holds a Master’s Degree in Marketing Communication and Advertising. Her role as marketing manager at Lemur Legal is (among many other things) to always take care of our social media presence. In addition, Vanja runs her own start-up MyOysters, which offers hedonistic experiences in the culinary and arts world for more demanding, foreign guests visiting Slovenia. Before she decided to begin her independent business career, she spent most of her career in marketing and PR agency Pristop.
Her favourite projects are the ones that require an innovative, systematic and comprehensive approach for the preparation of a marketing strategy. Being aware that the industry is evolving at lightning speed, Vanja devotes a great deal of time to studying and testing new marketing tools. Since taking her own path, Vanja has worked with several startups in the fields of e-commerce, financial technology and cuisine.
She feeds her soul by cooking, watching cooking shows or Netflix, reading about cuisines and designs and visiting galleries and theatre. Tropical places are on the top of her traveling list so, if only possible, she would replace winter with summer in a heartbeat. Her mid-term goal is to visit as many restaurants with a Michelin star as possible and take a sommelier course.
